Short & Sweet
Watch these short videos to prepare for your upcoming tour:
Equipment
Please remember to bring long thermal underwear to wear as a base layer, as well as wool socks.
If you do not have thermals and do not want to purchase any, something soft, close-fitting and warm works just fine. For example, yoga pants, leggings, running tights and a long-sleeved t-shirt or a thin jumper.
You will be provided with the rest of the necessary equipment to snorkel on site, including dry suit, undergarment, snorkel, mask, and fins.
If this is your first time wearing a dry suit, we recommend watching our short video introduction to familiarize yourself with its use.

Pick up from Reykjavik
Snorkelers and divers that book a tour with transportation from Reykjavik will be picked up at their designated location and dropped off at BSI Bus Terminal. The tour will then depart from the BSI Bus Terminal in Reykjavik at the booked start time.
A few important points to keep in mind
- Pick-up is operated by Reykjavik Excursions, not by DIVE.IS. The pickup vehicles are buses, clearly marked with the Reykjavik Excursions logo.
- Pick-up starts at the pick up time stated on your ticket and can take up to 30 minutes. The bus can arrive anytime during that time.
- If your pickup has not arrived 20 minutes after your pick-up time, please call Reykjavik Excursions at +354 580 5400.
- If you miss your pick-up, you must arrive at BSÍ Bus Terminal in time for your departure at your own cost. Departure times from BSI are 8:30 and 11:30.
- You are responsible for being ready and visible in time for your pick-up at your designated bus stop or outside your hotel/guesthouse.
- If in doubt, please review the map of all the Bus stops
Other considerations
-
Make sure your liability and medical forms are filled out and signed. You can fill out the forms and check their completion status at my.dive.is.
- Make sure you have eaten well before coming on tour. We do not suggest arriving hungry, as the tour can be physically tiring.
We recommend bringing:
-
A thermal base layer and wool socks to wear during your tour.
-
Appropriate outerwear to keep you comfortable before and after the tour. A hat and gloves are particularly useful for maintaining body temperature, regardless of the season.
-
You will get wet on your head and hands. If you have long hair you might want to bring a towel to dry it after the tour.
- If you have nearsightedness (i.e., require glasses for distance vision), you should consider bringing contact lenses or your own prescription mask. If your prescription is relatively mild (up to approximately -4), the natural magnification of the water may still provide adequate clarity.
