The Dry Suit Icelandic Dream package includes almost all the dives near Reykjavik in salty and fresh water.
The Icelandic Dream is a 3 day scuba diving adventure in Iceland with a total of 4 dives. It includes the PADI Dry Suit Course, one unforgettable dive at Silfra, the PADI Tectonic Plate Awareness Distinctive Specialty Course (unique to DIVE.IS and carried out during your dive at Silfra), 1 dive at Davíðsgjá fissure, 1 dive at Bjarnagjá fissure and 1 dive in the ocean in Reykjanes peninsula (either Garður or Óttarsstaðir, your guide will decide which dive site depending on tides and local conditions).
Also, included are tour photos from all dives as well as a free Silfra t-shirt, so you can bring the memories home with you.
Please keep in mind that, even though you will find a relaxed and fun environment here at DIVE.IS, the course and the dives are physically demanding and you must comply with all of our safety requirements. Please see the list of requirements below.
NOTES
- This is a Spring and Summer package, based on the daylight hours we have. If you are planning your visit in the Winter, please know that the schedule and price of the package are subject to changes. Contact us for prices and details.
- The PADI Dry Suit Diver E-book (15000 ISK) is included in the package. If you have purchased a hard copy of the PADI Dry Suit Diver manual, you are welcome to bring that along with you and we will refund you the cost of the E-book. Please let us know as soon as possible after booking if you have your own manual. It is mandatory to study it and fill out the Knowledge Reviews in the manual before the course begins.
- Note that ocean dives in Iceland depend on the weather and it can happen that scheduled ocean dive trips have to be canceled due to unfortunate weather conditions.
If that is the case we usually have a plan B and can offer you other dive sites, such as Lake Kleifarvatn, that do not depend on the weather as much as the ocean. Also, Bjarnagjá fissure is within an area where volcanic activity can happen. If the area is closed due to volcanic activity, we will move that dive to a different location.
Dry suit certificate
Got my dry suit certificate there, excellent service and our instructor James was the best. We started at the pool where he went throughly over the basics and then we went to kleifarvatn where he honed our skills. Will be going with them to silfra tomorrow and can't wait, Couldn't recommend this diving center more.

Of course! Our guides do their best to make your day at Silfra as memorable as possible. They carry top-quality underwater cameras and take high-resolution photos of both participants and the surroundings. You can view the photos after your tour and decide if you would like to purchase them. The photos are sold as a package, where you receive access to all the photos taken by your guide and our "Best of Silfra" collection folder, all of which will be made available to you via Dropbox. Do you see any life in Silfra?
-
Although there is plenty of life in Silfra, most of it is either plant life or micro-invertebrates, which are not visible to the human eye. Silfra is home to a unique amphipod called Crymostygius Thingvallensis found only in Thingvellir Lake and the surrounding fissures, such as Silfra.
In regard to fish life, there are three different species of fish that live in the lake: Brown Trout, Arctic Char and Sticklebacks, however, only the Arctic Char visit the fissure; they are frequent visitors during mating season in August and September. Throughout the rest of the year, the only fish who live in the Silfra fissure are the Dwarf Char, a subspecies of the Arctic Char. These range in size from a few centimeters to approximately 10cm maximum and live down in the darker recesses near the rocks and as such are not often spotted by divers or snorkelers.

-
How long are the Silfra dives?
-
Each of the Silfra dives is usually between 30 and 45 minutes, depending on air consumption, diver ability and customer comfort.
-
-
I have a Dry suit certification but I don't have 10 dry suit dives, can I still dive with you?
-
To dive in Silfra you need dry suit certification OR a minimum of 10 logged dry suit dives within the last two years. You don't need to meet both of these requirements, one is sufficient.
